[01] Administration Reform Minister: 4,000 layoffs in public sector until the end of 2013Administration Reform Minister Antonis Manitakis clarified that the necessary layoffs in public sector and the closure of organisations are expected to be propelled until the end of 2013, speaking to private TV MEGA on Saturday. He estimated the layoffs' number at 4,000 adding that until the end of July the procedure for the first 2,000 layoffs will have been completed. [02] SYRIZA leader replies to PM's address in ThessalonikiMain opposition Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) leader Alexis Tsipras, replying to Prime Minister Antonis Samaras's address in Thessaloniki, accused him of "lies in his continuous monologues", for "submission to Merkel" and for a "flirt with the far-right".Speaking from the podium of SYN's Central Committee, Tsipras called on Samaras "to come, either to a television dialogue, or to Parliament to reply for the IMF's text as well, as well as to how he realises the so-called "success story". Tsipras added that it is not enough for him "that he is a Parliamentary deserter, he also says lies in his continuous monologues. There where without a response, he takes the country out of the crisis, slanders SYRIZA EKM, declares submission to Merkel and confirms that he is flirting with the far-right". The SYRIZA leader further wondered "when was Mr. Samaras telling the truth?" When he was terming the first memorandum a mistake or now that he is implementing a memorandum that is three times worse than the first? He told us: I pointed out the mistakes but now I am looking ahead. Where ahead is he looking therefore? To a Greece that is ruined. Without national dignity. The real success of the Samaras government, the SYRIZA leader said, is 30 percent unemployment, the layoffs of doctors, professors, Local Administration employees, recession over 5 percent, a 12 percent decrease in investments, a 2.6 percent decrease in exports. If these are successes of a government, "then indeed the blow from the reports of the Commission and the IMF was such, that the prime minister has lost his logic". Concluding his reply to the prime minister, Tsipras said that "the so-called success story, is nothing but a disaster story for the Greek people". Tsipras devoted the rest of his address to the self-dissolution of SYN and the development of SYRIZA into a single party. The SYRIZA leader said that with the Central Committee's current session a big historic cycle is closing, but at the same time another is opening since the self-dissolution of SYN is an important, both symbolically and substantively, step in the course for the creation of the unified SYRIZA. He stressed that our aim is to become the catalyst of a big political change in Greece, and the spark for a big reversal of correlations in Europe.
