ANA/MPA--Communist Party of Greece (KKE) secretary general Dimitris Koutsoumbas accused the ruling parties of New Democracy and Pasok, and the main opposition party of SYRIZA, of "selling fake hopes, fear-mongering, and false dilemmas" on Friday.

At a press conference at the Thessaloniki International Fair, for which he is visiting the city officially, Koutsoumbas said that the two ruling parties' "half truths are their greatest lies" and said that they were trying to fool people into believing that better days will come with the achievement of a budget surplus.

He included SYRIZA in the "attempts to fool people" and said the party was trying to "pull the wool over their eyes" with promises and renegotiation of the memorandum.

The KKE leader called on the people to turn its back on them and join KKE in the fight against monopolies, the EU and NATO, reiterating that the only solution is to overturn the rule of monopolies.

Asked whether he would accept any cooperation proposal by SYRIZA, Koutsoumbas replied, "How can one cooperate with a party that had so many turnarounds in a single year? With a party that has opened widely its doors to professional unionists and known PASOK cadres."
