[01] Venizelos in Brussels: EU's problem is changing its European policies
ANA-MPA -- PASOK leader and government Vice President Evangelos Venizelos,
who participated on Tuesday in the Party of European Socialists (PES)
summit that preceded a EU summit, stressed in Brussels that Europe's
problem is not seeking roles for specific persons but changing its
policies, as the European Union's citizens are demanding.
Political leaders are attending meetings at the EU leading to a summit
on assessing Europarliamentary election results and initiating procedures
to choose the next president of the European Commission.
The European Parliament has given a mandate to Jean-Claude Juncker to
make the first attempt at building a majority behind his candidacy. If
that fails, the mandate will be given to Martin Schulz.
