[01] PM Samaras meets with Kuwait's Dep. Prime Minister
ANA-MPA -- Prime Minister Antonis Samaras on Thursday met with Kuwait's
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad
Al-Sabah at the Maximos Mansion. The head of Kuwait's investment fund
was also present at the meeting.
According to sources, Kuwait is interested in Greece's privatization
programme as well as in private investments in the country. Government
sources say that Kuwait has never made any major investment in Greece
and this is something it would like to change as it sees Greece as a
friendly European country that has made economic progress.
[02] Greek exports down 20.9 pct in April
Greek exports fell significantly in April, while imports eased
moderately, official figures showed on Friday.
Th Hellenic Statistical Authority, in a report, said that the value
of export-deliveries totaled 2.019 billion euros in April, from 2.553
billion in the same month last year, for a decline of 20.9 pct (excluding
oil products the value of exports fell by 12.4 pct).
The value of import-arrivals totaled 3.629 billion euros in April, from
3.930 billion in the same month last year, for a decline of 7.7 pct
(excluding oil products the value of imports fell 4.0 pct).
