Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and Government Vice President, Foreign
Minister and PASOK leader Evangelos Venizelos discussed on Monday
evening the strategic planning issues regarding government's policy,
their trips and contacts with EU partners, as well as pending bills
such as that concerning the "small PPC", a spinoff of the Public Power
Corporation, which government sources said was "proceeding as normal",
with the option of minor improvements possible.
Briefing reporters on the "small PPC" issue and in reply to a question on
whether there is concern over the ratification of the bill in Parliament,
Venizelos said there are multiple guarantees and more will be added.
[02] OTE submits non-binding offer for the acquisition of NOVA pay TV
ANA/MPA--- Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation (OTE) said on
Tuesday it had submitted a non-binding offer of 250 million to 300
million euros to acquire Nova, Forthnet's pay TV operations.
"OTE's non-binding offer is within the range of 250-300 million euros
on a debt-free, cash-free basis of the Nova pay TV operations. In the
event that an agreement is reached, it will be subject to clearance from
competent authorities," OTE said.
Barclays is OTE's financial adviser on the deal.
"OTE sees significant growth potential for Greek pay TV services, to
the benefit of consumers. OTE believes the intended agreement will be
beneficial to all involved parties and is consistent with the group's
strategic priorities," OTE said.
