[01] PM-Deputies will not have their consience blackmailedPrime Minister Antonis Samaras on Sunday in Parliament lashed out on main opposition SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras. In his address during the 2015 state budget debate, Samaras accused Tsipras of being disrespectful to the deputies and said they would not tolerate having their conscience being blackmailed. The people do not want elections now, he said and wondered who is the one acting against the people's will, the one that listens to them or the one that is indifferent and calls for elections. You have praised a hunger striker but you forgot that this young man has been sentenced to 15 year imprisonment for robbery using a Kalashnikov, Samaras said. He added that SYRIZA has undermined the country's exit from the memorandum. The prime minister also recalled that both Tsipras and the troika said that previous budgets would not be implemented. The government has finally been reaffirmed in its forecasts, but Tsipras as well as the troika have been proven wrong. [02] Tsipras-Vote for a President in the current Parliament is a vote for the extension of the memorandumA vote for the Greek President by the current Parliament equals a vote for extending the life of the current government and a vote for the continuation of the memorandum policies, main opposition SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras on Sunday said during the 2015 state budget debate in parliament.Tsipras wondered how a deputy, who will not vote for the budget on Sunday night, will say "Yes" to the election of the Greek President. In this respect, Tsipras insisted that if tonight, in the budget vote, the government fails to secure the votes needed for the election of the Greek President then the government should tomorrow proceed with elections. [03] Venizelos-The dilemma is a 'comprehensive plan or uncertainty'"The Greek people know they are facing a dilemma: the comprehensive plan we have proposed, we have been negotiating and we will reach an agreement with our partners or the absolute uncertainty and the unknown," Government Vice-President and PASOK leader Evangelos Venizelos said during the 2015 state budget debate in Parliament. In his address, Venizelos said main opposition SYRIZA "has panicked by the fact that it is losing the Memorandum and the Troika." "If the markets had been left on their own, without an internal front that would say "Greece is not ready to tap the markets", they would realize that the Greek public debt is actually low in real terms and that many claim it amounts to 60 percent of GDP if it is properly measured," he said. Regarding the presidential elections and the controversy over "defector" deputies, he said that terming a deputy's freedom of conscience a "defection" constitutes political blackmail and vulgarization of the public life.
