[01] PM Samaras confident Parliament will elect president by third round
ANA - MPA -- We still have two rounds of voting ahead of us, Prime
Minister Antonis Samaras said on Wednesday evening after the failure
of the first round to vote in Stavros Dimas as Greek president.
"I am sure we shall elect a Greek president," Samaras said to the press
after the vote, which included 160 for, 135 "present" and five absent
deputies.
The country "must not enter into adventures," he warned, and congratulated
those independent deputies who voted for Dimas in the first round.
