[02] ANEL leader accuses the gov't of colluding with bankers

During an election rally at Kozani, northern Greece, the leader of Independent Greeks (ANEL) party Panos Kammenos accused the incumbent government - a coalition between New Democracy and PASOK parties - of orchestrating a "rigged game" with the help of bankers, in an effort to terrorize voters in the forthcoming January 25th parliamentary elections. His accusations came as a result of Greek systemic banks requesting access to the Emergency Liquidity Assistance-ELA facility.

Kammenos reminded the audience, that about four months ago all four systemic Greek banks successfully passed the European banking stress tests, proving to be financially healthy. "What happened during these four months? Who lies and when do they lie?", wondered ANEL leader.

He emphasized, that "it's the same government and [Athens] College gang, who in May 2012 threatened the Greek people that wages and pensions wouldn't be paid if they didn't get elected". Kammenos verbally attacked the Premier and New Democracy leader Antonis Samaras, PASOK leader Evangelos Venizelos, Potami leader Stavros Theodorakis and KIDISO leader George Papandreou (former PM and PASOK leader).
