[01] KKE leader: Recovery of people's losses is the party's red line
ANA/MPA---"The pre-election debate focuses on the negotiation of the debt
and raises a double disorientation. The most important is the recovery
of the huge losses of the last period, something that constitutes a red
line for KKE, a criterion of every political proposal," Communist Party
(KKE) secretary general Dimitris Koutsoumbas said in an interview with
the Sunday edition of Kathimerini newspaper.
He said that the overall discussion for the debt is carried out under
the implicit or explicit presumption that the reason of the antisocial
attack is the high debt, the troika and the memorandum that are linked
with it, noting however that "throughout the EU, from Greece of the
high debt to Germany of the high fiscal discipline, a relevant knot of
antisocial measures is being untangled, regardless of the debt level."
He added that the measures aim at shielding the competitiveness of
the monopoly groups that has always been EU's strategic aim, while the
measures are being coded based on the EU's directions from Maastricht to
"Europe 2020."
"The Greek bourgeois seeks a better negotiation for the debt in order
additional funding capitals for the capitalist growth to be found and the
State funding to the monopoly groups to be increased. The negotiation
for the debt is negotiation within its grounds where oppositions and
competitions exist," he underlined.
Koutsoumbas also opined that New Democracy (ND) and SYRIZA essentially
agree on the strategic points for the debt and obscuring the fact that
any negotiation will comprise pledges so that lenders are secured.
Finally, KKE leader said that the people should not be trapped in a false
contradiction. Whoever becomes government, the people will be in the
opposition and its real rival will promote with determination the policy
of cheap working hands, with new salary reductions and new antisocial
measures" said Koutsoumbas adding that the recovery of the losses will
not be gifted to anyone but it will be gained by a revived working classes
movement and a strong KKE in Parliament in order the people to take back
everything they have lost during the crisis. This can only be achieved
through a unilateral and total write-off of the debt, socialisation of
the monopolies, and disengagement from the EU with the people in power."
