ANA/MPA---Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias is more in favour of a political rather than a legal solution on the issue of German war reparations, which could be determined by a joint team of Greek and German experts, German newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung reported in a story which will be published on Monday.

"I believe we have to find ways to discuss with Germany reasonably about specific problems," Kotzias was quoted as telling the paper, adding that a Committee of experts should be established by the two countries. "We have to find a common denominator," he said.

In the article titled "Athens wants a compromise on the issue of war reparations", the paper also notes Kotzias and German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier who are meeting in Berlin, will discuss the Greek-German Fund for the Future and the Greek-German Youth Laboratory which were founded in 2014.

Asked about Greece's debt, the paper says the Greek foreign minister speaks of a "haircut" but without making specific demands, while he describes Chancellor Angela Merkel as a "very reasonable person who considers the future of Europe".

Kotzias also told the paper it is important for Europe not to destabilize Greece, because if it happened, "millions of people" from the Middle East could find their way to the North of Europe.
