[01] Tsipras meets with AHEPA delegation
ANA/MPA---Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras received on Thursday
representatives of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive
Association (AHEPA).
Welcoming the delegation, the prime minister asked for the Greeks abroad
support underlining their importance particularly when the Greek-American
community in the US has the possibility to intervene to a power that
can play a decisive role. I can say that this support is important,
said Tsipras at the meeting.
[02] Taxpayers massively respond to favourable terms repayment scheme
ANA/MPA---Taxpayers' response to a Finance ministry scheme offering
more favourable terms in repaying overdue debt to the state exceeded
all expectations, with a total of 299,209 applications submitted in the
first 18 days of the plan's implementation, three times more compared
with the number of applications submitted in the first 20 days of a
previous similar plan last year (98,896).
As a result, overdue debt included in these applications totaled 1.972
billion euros, more than double compared with last year's program. Debt
collection totaled 102,496,297 euros, sharply up from 36,814,658 euros
last year.
