[01] Greek Parliament to discuss ongoing negotiations on Friday
ANA - MPA -- Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will address Parliament at
18:30 on Friday and brief MPs on the latest crucial developments in the
negotiations with Greece's creditors, during an off-the-agenda debate
requested by Tsipras.
According to an announcement, the discussion will be conducted on the
basis of article 142A of Parliament regulations. This stipulates that
the prime minister's initial briefing or statement cannot exceed 10
minutes, while subsequent speakers and the prime minister's response
are restricted to five minutes. The competent ministers also have the
right to brief Parliament for up to 10 minutes for their first address
and five minutes for their rejoinder.
[02] Greece's decision on IMF repayment is not an issue, EU Commission
spokesman says
ANA/MPA---Greece's decision to "bundle" its repayments to the IMF and
pay them all together later is compatible with the IMF's regulations and
does not undermine the country's ability to service its loan obligations,
European Commission spokesman Margaritis Schinas said.
Simultaneously, European sources said that Greece's decision does not
create any problems in its relation with the European Support Mechanism
(ESM) of Luxembourg.
Regarding a possible new meeting between the European Commission president
Jean-Claude Juncker and Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, Schinas said that
while it is possible, Juncker has not sent an invitation so it will not
likely happen in the immediate future.
[03] Productive Reconstruction Min.: Our choice to support Russian
natural gas pipeline beneficial for the country
ANA/MPA---Greece is not a plot and can't be blackmailed, nor does it
believe that with its choices in the energy sector it becomes part of
a problem, stated on Friday Productive Reconstruction, Environment and
Energy Minister Panagiotis Lafazanis responding to US Department of
State coordinator for International Energy Affairs Amos Hoschstein on
Greece's stance before the Russian natural gas pipeline.
In his statement, Lafazanis noted "On the contrary, our choice to support
a pipeline carrying Russian gas on the Greek territory is nationally and
economically beneficial and gives positive solutions for cooperation,
sufficiency in energy and the safety of the region and of Europe. Greece
is following with consistency a new independent and multidimensional
energy policy with ambition to make the country a multilateral energy hub
within which will be allocated and distributed the routes and the natural
gas origin sources without exclusions and neo Cold War prejudice. The
new emerging independent Greece is a source of stability, safety and
trust for all the peoples. A force that shows a different way for peace,
progress, justice and relations of equality among the countries."
