Negotiations between the institutions and the Greek authorities for
the ESM support program will officially start in the coming days,
a European official told ANA-MPA on Friday.
The same EU sources said that although "ambitious," the best scenario
is to have the planning completed as soon as possible, preferably by
mid-August. In this case, the sources said, the August 20 payment to
the ECB may be done by the first disbursement from the ESM.
However, the Commission is prepared for all scenarios, the sources noted
adding that right now there is no need to speculate about whether a new
financing-bridge will be needed.
