[02] PM Tsipras points to ongoing reforms in message to investors
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras addressed delegates of the 17th
Annual Capital Link Forum in New York on Monday, via a televised message.
"We held tough negotiations, asking for real reforms that promote growth
and do not shrink our economy's potential. We achieved a compromise
agreement that, for the first time, entails lower fiscal (primary
budget surplus) targets, more European investment resources and a clear
commitment for debt relief." He said these three factors are crucial steps
"to restart the Greek economy and tackle the huge unemployment rate,
which threatens social cohesion".
The Greek premier referred to what he called a series of radical reforms
aimed at creating a stable and investment-friendly environment, such as
tax reform and combatting tax evasion.
