  • [01] Ferry services gradually restored as winds weaken

Ferry services are gradually being restored on Thursday as northerly winds were weakening.

Earlier in the day, ferries remained docked in the ports of Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrio because of strong winds that reached 9 on the Beaufort scale.

Hydrofoils from the greater Athens mainland to and from various Saronic Gulf islands, however, remained docked.

[02] Energean cites doubling of oil production from Prinos field

Oil production in the offshore Prinos oilfield has doubled following completion of the first from a total of 15 drillings scheduled for the period 2015-2017 in Kavala Bay, Energean Oil & Gas said on Thursday.

The drilling added 1,500 barrels of oil to the daily production, which totals around 3,000 barrels per day, up 60 pct from last year.

Energean said verified oil reserves in Kavala Bay amounted to 30 million barrels and the company plans to exploit the reserves through a 200-million-US dollar investment program currently underway.
