[01] Vatican spokesman hopes the hierarchs' visit to Lesvos will awaken
consciences
ROME (ANA-MPA/ Th. Andreadis)---The Pope, the Ecumenical Patriarch and
the Archbishop of Athens, are not political authorities, but religious
and moral authorities acting in this field. But in so doing, they
address dynamically to the sense of responsibility of all, depending
on the specific responsibilities of each, Vatican spokesman father
Federico Lombardi said in an exclusive interview to ANA-MPA.
"Therefore they address to the responsibility of politicians. They cannot
offer specific, 'technical solutions' but they can propose the necessary
principles and refer to indispensable needs, suggesting guidelines that
lead to meaningful consequences," he underlined.
A few hours before Pontiff's visit to Lesvos, father Lombardi referred to
the close, brotherly relationship between Pope Francis and the Ecumenical
Patriarch Bartholomew.

[02] Agreement between Greece and its European lenders possible, says
Dombrovskis
BRUSSELS (ANA-MPA/ M.Spinthourakis)---An agreement between Greece and
its lenders is possible, European Commission Vice President Valdis
Dombrovskis said on Friday.
In statements to Politico, he said that the Greek issue will be discussed
on the sidelines of the IMF's Spring Meeting in Washington, noting that
progress has been achieved in many sectors including mid-term fiscal
targets, the taxation of individuals, tax collection and the pensions
issue.
However, he admitted that there are differences between IMF and EU's
forecasts on Greek estimated fiscal gap in 2018 which as he said, can
be easily bridged.
