[01] Greece's proposal will be accepted by lenders, review will close,
says parliament head
Parliament President Nikos Voutsis expressed his optimism on Thursday
that Greece's proposal on how to complete the negotiations with the
country's lenders will be accepted and the program review will conclude,
during an interview with private radio station Vima FM.
"It [the negotiations] will have a good conclusion … I'm optimistic that
the review will be concluded with the acceptance of the Greek proposal,"
he was quoted as saying.
Commenting on the contingent measures demanded by the institutions
to complete the review, he said: "It's not that we cannot [pass the
measures]; we don't want to pass them."
Voutsis also said that any government that would pass such measures
would risk losing investments, because it would be similar to admitting
in advance that economic targets will not be met.
