[01] The real wager is fair growth for all, says Labour Minister
Katrougalos
We have entered a phase that shows that the economy is starting to
recover and the real wager is growth to be fair for all, said Labour
Minister George Katrougalos in an interview with AMNA on Sunday.
Katrougalos underlined that in the imminent negotiation with the
institutions on the labour issues, the Greek stance will not be defensive
but offensive in order the general deregulation existing today in the
domestic market to be reversed.
He also noted that "there is a European way for labour issues and this
is the way we propose and not the way that the IMF indicates".
[02] Wildfires on the islands of Evia and Kea in progress
The wildfires that broke out on Saturday in Porto Lafia and Argyro on
Evia island as well as in Astras on the island of Kea on Sunday were
in progress.
According to Fire Brigade the blaze is not threatening inhabited areas
and the condition is better than yesterday, however the very strong
winds blowing in the area make the firefighters' work very difficult.

last 48h
Despite the adverse weather conditions with strong winds blowing in the
Aegean, 14 migrants and refugees tried and finally succeeded to reach
the coasts of Lesvos with a dinghy on Sunday morning.
199 migrants and refugees arrived in the last 48 hours on the Greek
islands. 116 people arrived on Lesvos, 52 on Chios and 31 on the island
of Samos.
