Michael Dukakis, Democrats candidate for US presidency in 1988, is currently in Greece invited by the Delphi Economic Forum and is holding a series of meetings with the country's political leadership

On Thursday, September 1, the Economic Forum of Delphi will organise a closed lunch during which the former governor of Massachusetts, Michael Dukakis, will deliver a speech at the Grande Bretagne Hotel.

Ahead of the visit of Michael Dukakis in Athens, the President of the Economic Forum of Delphi Yiannis Thomatos said: "It is a great honour that Dukakis accepted our invitation to visit Greece. Dukakis, with great career and vast political experience, expressed in the best way the dynamism of the Greek diaspora which over time supports the country's interests abroad."

Members of the Economic Forum Delphi and important representatives of the political and business world will participate in the forum. Dukakis is expected to express his views on Greece's recovery efforts and the problems in the international balance of power and the presidential election in the US.

Monuments of Thessaloniki, hotels and popular buildings of the city along with sports centers and the International Exhibition and Congress Hall of Thessaloniki will be included in the Thessaloniki Monopoly edition that will premiere at the 81th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF). The legendary board game, adapted on the city's plan, invites TIF visitors to get acquainted with it on September 14.

[04] Ancient theater of Delos opens after 2,000 years to host play on refugees

The ancient theatre of Delos will revive after two thousand years of silence. The play, "Hecuba (Ekavi), a refugee in Delos," is organised by the Cyclades Antiquities Ephorate and the Municipality of Mykonos is a minimum contribution to the people's awareness on the refugees' tragedy that the human kind experiences and takes place in the waters of the Aegean.

The play with Despina Bebedeli holding the leading role and directed by Nikos Karageorgos will take place on Friday and Saturday at 18:00.

The ancient theatre of Delos was built in the 3rd century BC and hosted the largest feasts and events as well as the games of independent Delos.

Due to the fact that the ancient theatre of Delos can't host a large number of people and lacks ordinary amenities, the play will be performed under the daylight and in front of a small audience that must follow strictly the orders of the Ephorate's staff.
