  • [01] Parliament presidents to meet on NCRTV

ิhe conference of parliament presidents will make a new effort on Thursday to form the Greek National Council for Radio and Television (NCRTV) with a possible unifying move from the President of the Parliament Nikos Voutsis.

The meeting of the conference of parliament presidents will take place at 3 pm.

"In the light of the latest developments and the State of Council's decision, the Parliament handed over to the National Council for Radio and Television all the responsibilities for the TV licences procedure. There are no excuses. New Democracy needs to respond to its Constitutional obligation as the government and the other opposition parties have already done so," Digital Policy, Media and Telecommunications Minister Nikos Pappas said.

On its part, main opposition New Democracy (ND) party said that it would safeguard the prestige of the institutions and the operation of the constitutionally provided independent authorities.
