[01] PM Tsipras: Government aims at enhancing social policy
A critical debate on all issues was held during SYRIZA's political
secretariat meeting chaired by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, according
to sources.
The same sources said that there was only a brief discussion on the
programme review as nothing has changed regarding the positions of the
party and the government. The prime minister reiterated the target of
having the programme review concluded and participating in the ECB
quantitative easing programme. He also stressed that the government
aims at enhancing the social policy, reforming the labour, health and
education sectors as well as the social policy in general. After the
conclusion of the programme review, the issue of the Constitutional
Revision will be resumed, the prime minister reportedly said.
[02] 8 million euros for the promotion of Greece in international markets
The programme "Advertising - Promotion of Tourism Programmes", budgeted
8 million euros, was included in the Public Investments Programme at a
decision of Alternate Economy and Development Minister Alexis Charitsis.
The programme concerns complete advertising campaigns for the promotion
of the Greek tourist product in international markets.
"Recognizing the importance of tourism to the economy and employment,
we secured the necessary resources for the effective promotion and
advertising of Greek tourism in international markets in 2017. Our goal
is to achieve record arrivals and revenue from tourism, as well as to
support the regions of North and South Aegean hurt by the refugee flows,"
Charitsis underlined.
