  • [01] Tsipras: Combating corruption is an issue of social justice

Corruption in Greece is not an occasional phenomenon and is related to development conditions of capitalism in the country, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Friday stressed to the Parliament in reply to a question raised by Potami leader Stavros Theodorakis on corruption.

The increasing corruption is inherent to a political and economic power network built in the country, especially in the period of the post-junta regime, Tsipras noted and added: a moral attitude is needed to tackle corruption, and our government has proved that it can do so.

The prime minister stressed that combating corruption is a priority despite the resistance of the various interests. "I will be concerned when the attacks stop," he underlined.

Regarding the Novartis scandal, he said that it concerns a non-transparent pricing of drugs and the data on the case will be brought before the prosecutor.

Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos will have a series of meetings in the next days, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel, EU Commissioner Pierre Moscovici, ESM president Klaus Regling and Poul Thomsen, Director of the IMF's European Department, according to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency's sources.

[03] 64 Greek documentaries in 19th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival

Sixty-four Greek documentaries will participate in the 19th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival that will be held from March 3 to March 12.
