  • [01] Agreement reached with institutions on out-of-court settlement of debts, says participant in talks

The government's team and the representatives of the institutions reached an agreement on Wednesday night on the out-of-court settlement of business debts, an official who participates in the talks said.

Details of the deal will be made known later this evening or on Thursday morning, he added. Talks between the two sides are continuing on labour law reforms.

[02] Feminist groups, LGBTQI community, pro-refugee groups, rally for International Women's Day

Feminist groups, members of the LGBTQI community, unions, anti-establishment and pro-refugee groups as well as anarchists marched in central Athens on Wednesday on the occasion of the International Women's Day.

Organizers said they participated in a "great feminist meeting" which was also held in 30 countries around the world, from Turkey and Poland to the United States and Latin America.

Protesters held banners that read "On March 8 we don't celebrate, we fight" and shouted slogans such as "No to patriarchy, sexism, racism, oppression and the rape culture", with others explaining they demand equality on a range of issues.

A group of women refugees from the City Plaza squat were also present, holding a banner that read: "If women are not free, no man is".
