  • [01] Tsipras: We do not forget the Nazis crimes, we do not forget the history

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras posted a message on Twitter on the day of memory of the Nazi atrocities in Distomo on June 10, 1944.

"We do not forget the crimes of the Nazis, we do not forget history. We honor the Resistance, committed to Peace and people's cooperation," the prime minister underlined.

[02] At this stage all sides seem to work constructively, gov't spokesman Tzanakopoulos says

The successful conclusion of the programme will provide great growth momentum to the Greek economy, and primary surpluses may be achieved without additional measures, government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos said on Saturday in an interview with Alpha radio.

"What is also important is the distribution of wealth in the Greek society. There will be a budget space of 5 billion to 6 billion euros by 2020 or 2021, which we will allocated to the social policy and support for the welfare state," he underlined.

Asked on the Eurogroup, he said that the aim of the Greek government is clear.

"We want a clear-cut solution, the determination of the medium-term measures on the debt and specific measures for growth that will contribute to the recovery of the Greek economy, which is already recovering, but this recovery is fragile because of the uncertainty. Therefore the climate of uncertainty must stop once and for all on June 15 and the conditions exist for this to happen," he stated.

As for the differences between institutions on the Greek debt issue, he said that "an effort is being made to bridge the differences between Europe and the IMF regarding the medium-term debt measures that are necessary to make debt sustainable for all institutions, including the ECB, and move on to the conclusion of the current programme so that in August 2018, we will be able to refinance our debt from the markets and without the support from the official sector."

Finally, he estimated "that at this stage all sides seem to work constructively."

[03] FM Kotzias: Greece has good relations with the Arab world

"We are a country that has good relations with the Arab world and we are trying to keep the right and fair balances, Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias said on Saturday in an interview with Alpha radio.

Asked about the crisis that broke out with Qatar, Kotzias stressed that all the involving countries were in Rhodes a few weeks ago and participated in the Conference on Security and Stability in the Eastern Mediterranean with the aim of creating a specialised security organisation.

He explained that the Greek diplomacy is moving on this basis and added that he had telephone contacts with everyone.

[04] 23-year-old Roma arrested in connection with the stray bullet that killed young boy

A 23-year-old Roma was arrested on Saturday morning after having confessed that he shot with a shotgun on Thursday evening when a 11-year-old boy was killed from a stray bullet.

Meanwhile, many capes have been found outside the young Roma's home, but not a weapon, so far. Another 2 persons were arrested earlier in the day with the total number of arrests going up to six.

More than 250 officers from all departments in the police force have taken part in a giant operation in the Acharnes area near Athens, searching for clues regarding a stray bullet that killed the boy.

The incident occurred on Thursday night, at the 6th primary school in the area, when a bullet came out of nowhere and fatally injured the unlucky boy in the head, killing him in the school playground.
