He is considered among the masterminds of the organization .In the meantime, interrogation of Savvas Xiros continues while according to information he has admitted involvement in terrorist acts and revealed data on the case . Savvas Xiros , 40, suspected of planting the explosive device at the port of Pireus 13 days ago, was injured as the bomb detonated prematurely . In parallel with terrorist acts, the police are investigating cases of big robberies involving hundreds of million drs believed to be carried out by the November 17 group to finance its activities. The Scotland Yard deputy chief will today give a press conference at the residence of the German ambassador in Athens. Following a meeting of the inner cabinet yesterday, Prime-minister Simitis vowed to heal what he called Greece s 27 year old wound of terrorism and put all guerillas of the November 17 group behind bars .He stressed that investigations will continue carefully and with determination. Public Order Minister, Mihalis Hrisohoidis stated that police investigations will continue until the full eradication of the group and the phenomenon of terrorism in Greece. Greek government spokesman described November 17 terrorists as common criminals stressing that terrorism is a threat to society and democracy. Main opposition New Democracy party leader Costas Karamanlis called for the crushing of terrorism on both an ideological and an operational level adding that his party backed the police task in a major national issue. Kostas Bakoyiannis, son of November 17 victim, Pavlos Bakoyiannis described present circumstances as a unique opportunity to eradicate terrorism adding that all arrests of suspects should be made within the frame of law and a spirit of justice.
