    Rain or storms are forecast from early afternoon in the northern Ionian, Epirus, Macedonia and Thrace, which will see scattered cloud earlier in the day. The rest of the country will be hot and sunny. Winds west-northwesterly, light to moderate, turning strong in parts of the south. In the west and north, temperatures will range from 21C to 33C; on the rest of the mainland from 23C to 37C; and in the islands from 24C to 36C. Temperatures in Athens between 26C and 37C; and in Thessaloniki from 24C to 33C.

    [02] Uprooting of 17 November terrorist group continues at fast pace

    Radical developments are taking place on the 17 November terrorist organisation issue with the 60-year old professor being interrogated at the anti &#8211;terror department.

    According to information, the professor was arrested while leaving Leipsous and going to Patmos, He was flown by helicopter to Athens last night.

    Additionally, the police searched the professor&#8217; s apartment where he was living with his French wife. According to information the police found a computer and printed material in his appartment.

    Also, during the night, four more people were interrogated at the anti-terror service, while it is expected that charges will be brought forward against Savvas Xiros&#8217; brothers Christodoulos and Vassilis, as well as against 26-year old Dionysis Georgiadis. Official announcements are expected to be made in the coming hours.

    Meanwhile, the authorities announced that one of the 45-calliber guns used by the 17 November terrorist group in seven assassinations, including those of New Democracy party MP Pavlos Bakoyiannis and Brigadier Stephen Saunders were discovered in one of the organization&#8217;s apartments in Pagrati.

    On a relative development, Press Minister Christos Protopapas reiterated that the Media should not misinform the public, since investigations are still at an early phase.

    Finally, State Department representative Richard Boucher referred to the investigations carried out in Greece stating that it was an operation of the Greek authorities with whom the USA is cooperating very well.

    [03] Tax reforms to continue

    The second packet of the Tax Reform will be finalised during a meeting that will be held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Costas Simitis today. Among the changes to be introduced are the substancial increase of tax-free amounts related to acquiring first residence through inheritance or parental benefits

    Commissioner Anna Diamandopoulos stated to NET 105,8 that retail prices and spare parts for private cars will drop following the introduction of the new competition regulations that abolish the monopoly of car industries in the European Market.
