In Italy, authorities have suspended the Sengen treaty announcing inspection of passengers travelling on aircrafts from countries which have been hit by the virus. In Greece, Health Minister, Kostas Stefanis has announced additional inspection measures for passengers of aircrafts from Asian countries and the provision of special supplies to hospitals in order to deal effectively in the event of a possible victim . In parallel, the Health Minister has warned hotel owners not to accept guests from countries hit by the SARS virus. Pasok deputy Hristos Papoutsis stressed the need for the strengthening of the government s cohesion and the materialisation of the Pasok party commitments.The Coalition of the Left and Progress party said that modernisation promised by the government has turned into strict neoliberalism which has entered a period of pre-election popularism while the Democratic Movement said that unrealistic theories could not solve the problems of the people.
