    [03] Scandalides to meet Tsovolas

Within the framework of changes to be introduced in the electoral law, DIKKI party leader Dimitris Tsovolas will meet with Minister of Interior Costas Scandalides.

Yesterday, Mr Scandalides met with the New Democracy MP Viron Polydoras, who reiterated his party's refusal to participate in a dialogue.

Meanwhile, in an interview with NET radio, Mr Scandalides stated that since the new electoral law would be put into practice not in the coming elections but to the following ones, there was no excuse for participating in the dialogue.

    [04] Stephanopoulos on Democracy

'Each one of us must, on all occasions think about what we say and avoid whatever is bad for democracy', said the President of the Republic Costis Stefanopoulos, in his short speech at the reception in celebration of the 29th anniversary since the restoration of Democracy in Greece. The President of the Republic also expressed his optimism over the course of democratic institutions and the state.

Finally, New Democracy party honorary President Costantinos Mitsotakis said that although everybody spoke of Democracy, we did not do what we should, rejecting allegations that he was commenting on Mr Stephanopoulos' statements.
