As of the early morning hours, thorough investigations are made by polices Special Forces (EKAM) in a specific area, where it is estimated that one of the two fugitives are located after the murder of the two policemen yesterday in Trygona, Trikala. As it was made known, a person made a hitchhiking sign to an areas resident around 3am, however, the driver did not stop and informed the police. When the policemen rushed to the scene the unidentified man had disappeared, but as per sources he had previously been located by the thermal sensors handled by the EKAM men. It is estimated that he is the 17-year-old Albanian, since the spot is in the direction he headed, while the 23-year-old Russian criminal Maxim Zhelim, who executed the two policemen ran on the opposite direction. Helicopters of the police and army are assisting investigations. The Chief of the Greek Police is also arriving in the area on a helicopter.

    Policemen's Funerals Today

The grief of the two policemens families is unbearable.

At 12pm the funeral service of sergeant Dimitris Kotsis took place, with the presence of the Deputy Minister of Public Order and Lieutenant of the Greek Police, at Ioannina.

The funeral of sergeant Konstantinos Vlachopanos will take place at 3pm in Kommeno, Arta.

It is reminded that the Chief and Officer in Duty of the Ioannina Police Transport Department were put in suspension on Friday, while a Sworn Administrative Investigation over the event is being conducted.

[02] Love to Try Tips for Parties Stylish New Year's Eve

    30 Dec 2005 21:24:00

    By Vicky Keleri

Although 2006 will be delayed by one second, this does not really provide you with much of an advantage when getting ready for the New Years party. We have to assume that you have already started the preparations and have scheduled all that is necessary for the big night, mainly the clothes, shoes and make up. In addition, you probably have already booked an appointment at your hairdresser or made the necessary arrangements with a friend, if you are not that good at hair styling. Well you might be wondering what is left. Basically, the magical details that will absolutely make you glow on New Years Eve. So, here are a few secrets that will help make the difference.

    Velour and Taffeta

Since you probably have already decided on the clothes and shoes, the other basic item that will complete the picture is the overcoat.

We suggest you opt for a velour coat, which you probably purchased last year, since it is in fashion and gives that extra glamorous and chic feeling that befits the celebrations!

If on the other hand you have money to spend, there are other suggestions out there! A fur coat, of the fake kind, could be just what you are looking for. You will find it in all the stores, in a multitude of colours and at prices catering for all pockets.

And if this sounds like a more extreme look, then taffeta was created for you! A taffeta jacket, short or long depending on the rest of the accessories, will add a touch of style and glamour to your appearance.

    Glamorous Details

The next step to consider is the accessories!

Brooches are the latest thing, so we do not have to tell you that such a piece would perfectly complement your look tomorrow! If you cannot pin it to your dress or blouse because of other accessories, you can put it on your coat and be done with the dilemma!

In any case, though, avoid extravagances! Ok, it is New Years Eve, but Halloween is over and you do not want the rest of the women at the party grinning as soon as you turn your back!

Before closing this chapter, though, we have another somewhat extreme suggestion, but certainly a very lovable and cute one for this winter! What about a tiara? We are not talking about something too much over the limit, but a lighter version.

You can find them in various shapes and sizes. There are the small ones that look like gemmy hairpins if you want to pass unnoticed, and the more fancy ones if you want all eyes set on you.

But you will only dare to wear it if you are still at a younger age, are quite playful and can carry it off!

However, if you go for such a piece of jewellery on your heads, then the rest of the look should be minimal chic, to avoid any serious stylistic errors!

    Glowing New Year's Eve

We have saved the best things for last. Once you are dressed like princesses, there is only one thing missing: glitter dust. This will surely make your appearance a bit more ethereal.

And because Tinkerbelle does not have time to visit you all, then the cosmetics shops will come to the rescue!

A powder that will add a bit of glow to your cheeks and bust is the ideal final touch just before the party!

But go easy on the brush. You do not want to glow in the dark like fireflies. Just a bit is enough to make you look stunning!

    Something for the Guys

However, let us not forget the boys, since they will be the ones accompanying us and they also have to look great.

They have to pay a bit more attention to the details.

Granted, they will wear a suit on the big night, but a simple suit will look mush better if a set of cufflinks emerges from the sleeves and not the usual shirt buttons.

Silver or platinum ones go with everything, while they also add charm and prestige! If you are looking for something more formal, then you can go for cufflinks with stones, like colourless Swarovski crystals or even topaz or emeralds.

If you actually decide to wear cufflinks, then you have to make sure that the shirt befits the situation. Do not let your man choose classic or boring ones. Colour is a must for the festive season.

Lilac or shades of pink will help brighten him up and make him cuter.

And if these dawn on you as extreme, there are other alternatives available, such as light blue or green. Throw in a matching tie and he will look spiffy!

That is all from us. You just pick what suits you best, combine it with your individual taste and do not leave the house without a dash of enthusiasm and a pinch of excitement!

    Happy New Year!

[03] Abducted in Rafah on Wednesday British Hostages Released

    30 Dec 2005 23:50:00

    By Vagelis Theodorou

The adventure of three Britons, 25-year-old Kate Barton and her parents, Helen and Hugh, who were kidnapped by gunmen at the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, has ended well. Quoting a source of the Palestinian security services, TV network Sky News broadcast that the hostages have been released, while the information was also confirmed by a British official, who added that he will be meeting them in Gaza. According to witnesses, the seven armed abductors surrounded the hostages, who were then bundled into a white vehicle that sped away. The British Foreign Ministry has not made any announcements yet, while, as a British official in Israel told on BBC, the three Britons will be transferred to Jerusalem. It should be reminded that the 25-year-old, who works for an international NGO, and her visiting parents were kidnapped while driving their car. The motives and identities of the culprits remain unknown.
