    Crash due to Human Mistake

    30 Ιουν 2008 08:21:0

Passenger ship Theofilos hit a rock on Saturday and was slightly damaged. Both the Merchant Marine Ministry and the shipping company attribute the crash to a human mistake. In the meantime, competent authorities are conducting interrogations to find the exact conditions under which the accident occurred. According to Coast Guard divers who examined the hull breach, the ship runs no danger of sinking. An anti-pollution protection net was placed on the breach. Merchant Marine Minister announced the review of regulations and procedures regarding sailing on dangerous parts as well as evaluation standards of Merchant Marine officers. The last passenger of "Theofilos" arrived in Piraeus this morning aboard another ship serving the line while their luggage arrived in Taxiarhis ship. The shipping company will inform passengers when they can take their vehicles while transfer of vehicles operation will be decided today.
