  • [01] Students Take to the Streets Again

School and university students are staging street protests on Monday. A sit-in has been scheduled outside the headquarters of the Greek Police for 1200 hours, while students are planning to block central roads throughout Athens. Education Minister Evrypides Stylianides called on the students to express themselves freely, without hoods on, further adding that the Ministry is planning to work along with teachers and parents, lest the tension should be transferred inside classrooms.

In the meantime, the lawyer of the two policemen charged with the killing of the 15-year-old boy, Alexis Kougias, is expected to petition for their release.
