[01] PASOK Proposes Enquiry Committee on Vatopedi Case
11 parliamentary members of opposition socialist party PASOK ask for
the set up of a special parliamentary committee on Vatopedi case in
accordance to article 86, paragraph 3 of law 3126/2003 "per Ministers'
Penal Responsibility" and articles 153 of " Parliaments' Regulation"
The Committee will conduct investigation on:
(a) Corruption against the State possibly committed by ministers
Evagelos Basiakos, Petros Doukas, Alexandros Kontos and Georgios
Voulgarakis.(b) Instigation of an offence possibly committed by
Theodoros Roussopoulos who was then minister of state (c) Participation
and instigation of an offence committed by other people (d)
Responsibility of ministers and deputy ministers for instigation of an
offence
Yesterday, PASOK representative K. Papakostantinou called on ND to
support the effort initiated by PASOK so as any responsibilities held
by political people to be revealed. Social party parliamentary member
Mr. Christos Papoutsis in his interview in Athens 9,84 radio station
branded PASOK's proposal a political commitment and stressed that the
opposition party has an institutional obligation to proceed to the
investigation of the case.
