[03] No Problem in Fuel Supply

    Tuesday, 16 February 2010 14:32

Motorists are queuing at gas stations to fill up tanks since early Monday morning fearing shortage in fuel due to the strike announced by custom officials. The Gas Station Owners Federation (OBE) has issued a statement stressing that there is no reason for panic as fuel supply is normal so far.

Furthermore, the Federation advises consumers to stick to their regular supply of fuel to prevent fabricated shortage of fuel and stresses that no decision for strike mobilization has been reached, gas stations are open.

In the meantime, some gas stations have already ran out of unleaded gasoline after the high demand in the last two days.

Situation is expected to be worse if tank lorries and gas station owners decide to materialize strike threats.

The Finance Ministry has warned to impose ceiling on fuel prices to prevent illegal profiteering.
