[01] KKE and SYRIZA Refuse to Attend Political Leaders' Council

Alexis Tsipras, head of SYRIZA (Coalition of the Radical Left), and Aleka Papariga, leader of KKE (Greek Communist Party), said they would not attend the political leaders' council scheduled to take place on coming Monday.

Government Spokesman

"While the Prime Minister and the government are fighting to rescue Greece's economy and when social cohesion is necessary, KKE and SYRIZA are yet again looking for pretexts," commented government spokesman Giorgos Petalotis. "Unfortunately, their only contribution to the Greek people's effort is yet again denial disrespect for democratic institutions," added he.

LAOS

LAOS (Popular Orthodox Rally) issued an announcement reading:

"At a moment of major historical responsibility, the left parties are beign irresponsibility. Greece has to find its way out of the crisis even without them."
