[01] NEW PAPANDREOU-OYMEN MEETING IN STRASBOURG

Complete agreement on the adopted policy in the Greek-Turkish relations was
established during the meeting of the Governmental Committee.
On Monday, the Greek-Turkish relations will be discussed in the Executive
Bureau of the governing party of PASOK, while the issue will also be
discussed in the meeting of the party's Parliament deputies that will be
held on Wednesday.
Next week, alternate Foreign Minister Giorgos Papandreou will have a new
meeting with Turkish Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs Onur Oymen within
the framework of the Council of Europe proceedings in Strasbourg.
[02] THE GREEK STATE HONOURS TOMORROW THE MEMORY OF THE 3.700 GREEKS KILLED
IN MAUTHAUZEN

The memory of the 3.700 Greeks, who were killed in the nazi concentration
camp of Mauthauzen, will be honoured tomorrow by the Greek state and the
leadership of the Greek community in Austria in a ceremony that will be
held in the Greek monument built at the concentration camp site.
In the nazi years, Mauthauzen was a place of martyrdom for over 200.000
prisoners coming from almost all the European countries.
[03] THE WORLD PRESS DAY IS CELEBRATED TODAY

The World Press Day is celebrated today and based on shocking evidence
provided by international organizations, freedom of press violations
continue to be observed worldwide.
In the past 10 years, over 600 journalists were killed in the line of duty,
180 are imprisoned and 78 of them are held in Turkish jails, while during
last year there were about 800 attacks against journalists in 160
countries.
[04] INFLATION DROPPED TO 5,8% IN APRIL

Inflation in Greece dropped from 6% in March to 5,8% in April. According to
National Economy Ministry estimates, inflation will drop further by the end
of the year to 4,5%.

The winner of the British elections Toni Blair announced the members of his
government after a meeting with Queen Elizabeth.
The Ministry of the Exchequer goes to Gordon Brown and the Foreign Office
to Robin Cook. In his first statements, the new Foreign Minister stressed
that among his immediate priorities is the improvement of his country's
relations with the EU.
