Athens, March 2 (MPA)
Archbishop of Athens and All of Greece, Seraphim's state of health is
critical as he is undergoing additional dialysis treatment today.
Yesterday, the Archbishop's health showed a slight improvement, yet his
doctors remain skeptical and stress that his state of health continues to
be critical.
[02] SHROVE MONDAY CELEBRATED IN GREECE, THOUSANDS OF KITES IN THE
SKY

Shrove Monday was celebrated throughout Greece today, with the traditional
kite flying. Hundreds of thousands took advantage of the three day weekend
and stormed to the countryside, albeit the exodus was not accident-
free.
Since Friday, 18 persons were killed in traffic accidents, while another
236 were injured.
The exodus of the big cities' residents for the three-day vacation of
Shrove Monday is Traffic police has put into force emergency measures along
the national road network and urge motorists not to consume alcoholic
drinks, to wear seat-belts and to observe traffic regulations.

[03] SITUATION IN KOSSOVO IS TENSE, ALBANIA'S NANO WANTS SIMITIS'

Tirana, March 2 (MPA)
The Prime Minister of Albania has requested the mediation of Greek Premier
Kostas Simitis in order to alleviate the tension in the region of
Kossovo.
Meanwhile, the ministry of Interior of Serbia has announced that 20 persons
were killed during the violent incidents, among them four policemen.
