Athens, 14.03.1999 (MPA) In an interview given to an Athens Sunday paper,
Prime Minister Kostas Simitis defense his government's policy and stressed
that he does not intend to
risk the country's future.
Meanwhile, Defense Minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos underlined his support to
the Premier and the ruling PASOK party, whose congress is to be imminently
held.
At the same time, Mr. Tsochatzopoulos stated that there is a need of a new
strategy which should be proposed during the congress.

[02] MASSACRE IN ISTANBUL, 13 DEAD, MANY INJURED FROM EXPLOSION

Istanbul, 14.03.1999 (MPA) Thirteen persons died and at least 15 have
been injured in Istanbul when a series of bombs exploded at a busy shopping
mall in the center of town.
The Turkish authorities are conducting investigations that would lead to
the arrest of the culprits.

[03] SECOND ROUND OF RAMBOUILET TALKS TO BE HELD TOMORROW

Rambouillet, 14.03.1999 (MPA) The second round of talks between the two
sides of the strife-torn Kosovo region (Serbs and ethnic Albanians) are to
be held tomorrow in Rambouillet, France.
NATO Secretary-General Javier Solana has warned that if the agreement is
not signed by both sides, then the Alliance will seek -and gain- approval
to attack Serb targets.
