    Athens, 10 February 2000 (14:23 UTC+2)

The stock market's performance, in conjunction with the economy's growth, appear to have boosted the majority of Greek households, according to a recent survey conducted by ICAP.

Concurrently, the number of households who saw their economic situation taking a turn for the worse has decreased.

The benefits were especially notable in the middle class, white-collar workers living in urban centers, while more farmers and blue-collar working families reported a reduction in their economic status rather than an improvement.

According to ICAP, the main cause of economic stagnation or aggravation was inflation, especially felt by pensioners.
