We would like to inform you that the 16th Congress of the International
Association for Disability and Oral Health (IADH) will be held on September
4-7, 2002, at Caravel Hotel, Athens-Greece. on September 4-7 2002, in
Athens-Greece.
The International Association for Disability and oral Health (I.A.D.H.),
formerly the International Association of Dentistry for the Handicapped,
exists to serve as a focus for National Academies, Associations, Societies
and Federations as well as individuals, striving to improve access to, and
the quality of oral health in people with disabilities and is one of the
largest Associations in the area of Dentistry, with more than 5.000 members
all over the world.
I.A.D.H. has an admirable track record in the field of recognition of the
right of Disabled People to Dental Treatment. At the same time, I.A.D.H. is
responsible for informing, not only the people that have any kind of
contact with Disabled People, but also the general public for the special
needs of Disabled People and the prospects that exist for the recognition
and solution of their problems. The Association's role is to improve,
develop and sustain international communications by acting as a forum for
the exchange of information in the area of oral health care for people who
are disabled intellectually, physically, medically, sensorily or socially.
The goal of this meeting is to give the opportunity to all scientists
working in the field of Dentistry for Special Patients, such as People with
Special Needs to exchange information and experience, to promote
international collaboration and to renew old friendship. In addition, it
aims to providing direct information to the groups of patients we serve. It
is our ambition to prevent an irresistible scientific Program that will
include practical clinical papers and research information in a clinically
useful manner. Mariana Vardinogianni, UNESCO's Ambassador of Good Will.,
will honor us with his presence in the opening ceremony of the Congress,
along with many other important personalities from Greece and major
