Boston, April 10: Greek ParadePublic Events Directory - Previous Article - Next ArticleFrom: "HR-Net News Distribution Manager" <dist@hri.org>Originally From: FHASNE <mail@fhasne.com> FHASNE March 16, 2005 Contact: Tina Papadopoulos 617-828-7543 Boston: The Federation of Hellenic-American Societies of New England (FHASNE) is busily preparing for the annual Greek Independence Day Parade that will be held on Sunday, April 10 beginning at 1pm. The parade route will begin on Boylston Street and will make its way down to the reviewing stand at Charles Street. Over 30 organizations and Churches have already signed up to participate and more are expected to join in the next few days. His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios and the Honorable Mayor Menino of Boston will serve as Grand Marshals. Consul General Mr. Konstantin Bikas will be an Honorary Grand Marshall and several other local and Greek politicians and dignitaries will be on hand to celebrate the day. Events leading up to the Parade begin on Friday, April 8 at Noon with the Greek Independence Day Commemoration hosted by Governor Mitt Romney and the Massachusetts Legislature at the State House. A reception hosted by the Consul General will immediately follow at the Greek Consulate on Beacon Street. The annual Dinner Gala will take place on Saturday, April 9 at the Radisson 57, beginning at 6:30pm and those who would like to attend may see Board members for tickets. Prior to the Parade on Sunday all are invited to attend the 10:00am Doxology at the Annunciation Cathedral presided by His Eminence, Metropolitan Methodios. The Federation invites and encourages all members, friends and families to support these events by their participation and attendance.
