  • [01] TURKEY CONDEMNS STATEMENTS OF SCHRODER AND D'ALEMA

ANKARA, Nov 28 (A.A) - Turkey on Friday condemned the attitude of German Chancellor Gerhard Schroder and Italian Prime Minister Massimmo D'Alema who claimed that ''there is a Kurdish problem in Turkey'' and who revealed their intentions to start an initiative for the solution of this so-called problem.

Foreign Ministry statement said German Chancellor and Italian Prime Minister expressed their views again for the judgment of chief of separatist terrorist organization in front of a private court and added that ''it is understood that these two Prime Ministers revaled unacceptable political intentions and tendencies.''

The statement said ''the idea of a conference, which was put forward within this framework, is only a distortion of the issue. This initiative is totally vain and baseless.''

The statement said it was understood clearly that Germany would not call for the extradition of Abdullah Ocalan, chief terrorist, and recalled that extradition file which Turkey prepared has not reached to Italian authorities.

The statement said ''such kind of seaches which have political aims contradict with the principle of priority of law.''

[02] PRIME MINISTER YILMAZ RESPONDS TO STATEMENTS OF SCHRODER AND D'ALEMA

ANKARA, Nov 28 (A.A) - Prime Minister Mesut Yilmaz said on Friday that Turkey would not allow the ones who aim at making the separatist terrorist PKK organization political.

Responding to the questions of reporters on the issue Yilmaz evaluated the joint statement issued by German Chancellor and Italian Prime Minister regarding judgment of Abdullah Ocalan, chief of separatist terrorist organization, in an international court.

Yilmaz said ''our attitude to this end is very clear. We defend that he should be judged in normal courts due to the crimes he committed. Germany once again reiterated that he would not call for his extradition. This is an unfortunate statement. There is no change in our opinions. Turkey suffered a lot from the activities of the separatist terrorist organization. He should be judged in Turkey.''

Yilmaz pointed out that ''despite all the selfish attitudes of European countries, I don't think this person, who is responsible for the killings of 30,000 people, will be released. What has to be done is that his extradition to Turkey.''

Aliev, speaking during the meeting, said the consortium claimed that the cost of the Baku-Ceyhan project was very high and added that real cost of the project should be determined and that it should be proved with documents that the project is appropriate by economic means.

Recalling that there were several ones who try to prove that the project was not attractive, Aliev said ''I am not sharing the views of the ones who defend that this project is not beneficial. Nobody would want realization of a project which is not attractive economically.''

Aliev said contacts of Ilham Aliev, his son, who acts as the Deputy Chairman of state run oil company SOCAR, in the US, proved that Baku-Ceyhan project will be realized. Stressing that Azerbaijan would not change its attitude on the issue, Aliev said cooperation between Turkey and Azerbaijan should be strengthened to this end.

ANKARA, Nov 28 (A.A) - Syria, which expelled chief of separatist terrorist PKK organization from this country, closed ''crisis with Turkey'' file and thus created diffuculties in implementation of commitments of Adana agreement.

Syria had to expell chief of separatist terrorist organization from this country upon pressures coming from Turkey and tension between Turkey and Syria was softened with Adana agreement. Yet, there are problems in implementation of the agreement in detail due to the attitude of Syria.

Diplomacy circles said crisis between Turkey and Syria was ended following the expel of chief terrorist from this country adding that ''Syria now says, we have sent Ocalan and fulfiled what you have wanted'' and closed this file.

A source from Arab diplomacy circle told A.A correspondent that ''Syria, even if had to give a concession with the expelling of Ocalan, will not present everything to Turkey in a golden plate. There are not spring winds blowing between Turkey and Syria.''

Meanwhile, it was also reported that Turkey will call for the extradition of a separatist terrorist from Syria and that this will create a problem. There is not an agreement between Turkey and Syria regarding the extradition of criminals. Turkey has to apply to Syria with the evidences and court decision that this person is guilty.

Diplomatic circles say Turkish-Syrian-Lebanon tripartite security meeting, foreseen in Adana agreement, was a distant possibility.

It was reported that Lebanon has not responded to Turkey's call yet.

[09] EXPERTS ON TERRORISM: - ''TERRORISM BECOMES AN INDUSTRY'' - ''INTOLERANCE, BRUTALITY AND FONDNESS FOR AUTHORITY ARE CHARACTERISTICS OF TERRORISTS'' - ''TERRORIST USE THE METHODS OF TAKING HOSTAGE, HIJACKING, SABOTAGE, ASSASINATION AND THREAT''

ANKARA, Nov 28 (A.A) - International experts on terrorism said on Saturday that the terrorism became an industry.

Experts defined joint characteristics of the terrorists as the intolerance, dogmatism, brutality and fondness for authority, noting that most of terrorists live in a imaginary battle where countless people support them.

Terrorists generally use the methods of taking hostage, sabotage, hijacking, assasination, threat and bombing.

James Adams pointed out in his book named as ''The Finance of Terrorism'' that most of the terrorists believes in rightfulness of their cases.

Adams noted that fear and immorality hold a terrorist organization together. Terrorists who can even kill their own brothers and sisters, admit the organization as their real family.

Terrorists obtain weapons from the markets in the regions having lack of authority.

Terrorism refuses the policy and aims at making civilization unworkable.

    Experts describe the terrorist actions as;

-Efforts aiming at changing the administration,

    -Damaging public services and enterprises,

    -Damaging international relations,

-Assasinations on head of states of government officials,

-Destroying public buildings, vehicles and the communication,

-Infecting contagious diseases or polluting food and water

There are seven countries supporting terrorism according to the US sources. These are Iraq, Iran, Libya, Syria, Sudan, Cuba and Northern Korea. Iran is the most dangerous supporter of the terrorism.

Media of mass communication has an important role on terrorism. Television and radio channels and newspapers give large place to the bloody terrorist actions, so terrorist organization succeed in promoting their actions against humanity.

A terrorist organization has different financial sources such as bank robbery, collecting donations, gamling, night clubs and ransoms.
