SARAJEVO - The representative of the Republika Srpska (RS) within the Arbitration Commission for the Brcko area, Vitomir Popovic said in a letter sent to the international envoy, Carl Bildt, that "if a disputable subject is not defined, RS can not get down to work on a arbitrage". In the letter, Popovic empha sises that the RS Assembly and Government have taken this posi tion. "According to a routine practice, proved by international courts, the rule is that a disputable subject, sources, as the base for the court to pass a judgment and nominate an arbiter, be established through an arbitrage compromise", says the letter sent to Bildt.

SARAJEVO - RS representative in the Arbitration Commission for the Brcko area, Vitomir Popovic, denied rumours that he had left the work in the Commission and pointed out that he requests the international community to deliver the charts of the disputa ble subject. Popovic said that he has explained in the letter, sent to the High Representative of the international community, Carl Bildt, that "if a disputable subject is not defined, RS can not approach an arbitrage, that is if charts showing clearly the disputable part are not delivered".

CLEVELAND - If President Radovan Karadzic of Republika Srpska leaves the presidential post at the Serbian Democratic Party "this would mean that the first in a raw of ultimatums established by US is fulfilled", believes an US analyst of the Balkans, writes New York Times. According to him, "an ultimate goal of such policy is a reintegration of the RS into a unitary B - H and an extradition of president Karadzic and general Ratko Mladic to the Hague Tribunal".

PARIS - During his visit to Sarajevo, French defence minis ter, Charles Million, stated that France will use all influence it has in order that the Security Council changes the IFOR man date, which would be used for hunting of RS president Radovan Karadzic and the RS Army chiefof-staff, general Ratko Mladic. Million's statement is parallelled with the request sent to the French authorities by the main enemies of the Serbian people, among the rest Pascal Bruckner, Alain Finkelcrant, Paul Garde, Andre Glicsman and BernardHenri Levy.

SARAJEVO - In its commentaries on the upcoming elections in the RS and former B-H, the British press maintains that both the RS leadership and the whole Serbian people are opposed to a unitary Bosnia. This way, Independent assesses that "it is unim portant at all if the SDS president Radovan Karadzic will, in any way, take part at September elections, since he has been commit ting to the opposition of a unitary Bosnia, this being also the aim of the majority of RS politicians and people".

STOCKHOLM - A possible attempt at handing over Brcko to the CroatMuslim Federation through an arbitrage would surely provoke much greater and bloodier war then this one - recently ended - was, assess a group of Brcko Serbs in an interview with Sweden Radio's correspondent. One of conversationalists told to the Sweden reporter that he welcomes the possible cooperation at the newlyopened joint markets with Muslims and Croats, but he does not believe in the future common life with them.

SKOPLJE - Albanian political parties have these days orga nised in Tetovo and Gostivar meetings titled "Let Ask for Pro tection", as a protest to the Tetovo Court which sentenced the Tetovo University president, Prof. Fadilj Sulejmani to twelve months prison term. "This what is happening in Tetovo and Gosti var jeopardises safety and stability in the region", stated for RadioSkoplje the OSCE chief in Macedonia, Denmark ambassador Christian Fabor Rott.
