NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The minister of foreign affairs of Republika Srpska (RS), Aleksa Buha, talked in Pale with OSCE political director, Vladimir Kuznjecov, on the organisation of the upcoming municipal elections and other current issues in OSCE jurisdiction. "The provisional rules are not completed yet, but I have been reassured and I hope that all people will be able to live where they live now or where they intend to live", stated minister Buha, expressing his hope that the OSCE will stand behind these promises so that "we could peacefully await municipal elections". "I hope that our insistence in relation to the elections will be taken into account during the final review of the rules", added Buha.

ZVORNIK - The entry of Serb police into the village of Dugi Do, in the municipality of Zvornik, planned for tomorrow, was delayed for Wednesday because of Muslim religious holiday, this was agreed to upon request of the US SFOR First Division commander, general Montgomery Migs. The census of people, who desired to live in RS, was carried out in the villages of Mahala and Jusici, where the Serb police established its stations last week.

BANJALUKA - The municipal board of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS) for Banjaluka, asked for an urgent summoning of the SRS Main Board and exclusion its deputies from the National Assembly who are not sticking to the Party's programme. At a press conference, the SRS Banjaluka's Municipal Board announced it would call on responsibility the Party's leadership, especially its president Nikola Poplasen, because of displayed animosity in the work of the House of Representatives during the latest National Assmelby session.

DOBOJ - The VRS command in Doboj sent protested provocative and usurping "joint alliance" flights over the Doboj area with the SFOR Nordic-Polish Brigade Staff. At a meeting in the Doboj garrison, VRS officers presented to the representatives of the Nordic-Polish Brigade facts reaffirming that SFOR is proceeding the actions which are unacceptable in military terms and are not in accordance with provisions of the Dayton agreement.

AMSTERDAM - A photograph, issued in million of copies and seen round the world in 1992 in order to disseminate a picture of Serbs holding Muslims in prisoner camps, is just a skillful hoax, stated a German journalist Thomas Djahman for the Dutch daily "Hrune Amsterdam". "While watching the taped material it could be seen that the cameraman and journalist of the ITN studio made these sensational pictures by taping a group of British journalists who stood in a fenced area, a part of former dump" claims

BOROVO SELO - The Serbs from Borovo Selo is occupied by a single question "to stay or to leave", conclude "Vecernje Novosti" in its report from Borovo Selo, a symbol of the resistance of the Srem-Baranja Serbs to Tudjman's regime in 1991. "The international politicians did what the enraged Croat Police members failed to do", says the report.

BEOGRAD - The Serbian Assmelby will vote on Proposal of the special law - lex specia - on final OSCE report-based verification of the electoral results.

BEOGRAD - The spokesman of the "Students' Protest '96/97" Dusan Vasiljevic, announced that the students in Belgrade would, upon the end of protests, form a special organisation whose aim will be to protect the University's autonomy.

MOSTAR - The Croatian Radio Herzeg-Bosnia reports that no casualties were caused by last night's explosions in the Bulevar Street, shooting at the Franciscan Monastery and Mostar Police, and shooting in the Croatian communities of Orlan, Dakijina Luka and Rodoc.
