NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

ATHENS - The Dayton agreement is of a grave importance, for it brought peace to all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and recognised the right of the Serb people to Republika Srpska (RS), stated Serbia's president Slobodan Milosevic in his interview for the most influential Greek daily "To Vima". The Serbian president pointed out at a possibility that RS links with FR Yugoslavia, but also with the Federation of B-H.

BIJELJINA - The RS Minister of Interior, Dragan Kijac, held a meeting with the Ministry officials in Bijeljina to review the security situation in the country with an emphasis on the possible developments in the Brcko area following the arbitration.

WASHINGTON - The RS delegation finished its visit to Washington. This was only second visit of the RS delegation, because during the war, due to sanctions and other obstacles, the RS Government was not able to access Washington in order to confront the Muslim-Croat propaganda machinery.

ZURICH - The Serbian Cultural Association in Switzerland warned deputy minister for relations with the Serbs outside Serbia, Slavko Vojinovic, that a possible decision to annul this Ministry would affect four million of Serbs living abroad.

MOSCOW - The former head of Boris Yeltzin's Security Service, Aleksandar Komarkov, is back on the political stage as a leading candidate for deputy in the Russian Parliament from the city of Tury. According to some analysts, his election for deputy might provoke unease in the Russian political leadership.
