The RS vice-president Dragoljub Mirjanic and several deputies of the RS National Assmelby were in the bus. Lukic required the commander of the SFOR Base in Samac, Lt. Haverin James, to prevent such behaviour, and reminded him that thus far there have been no confrontations between US troops and local residents.

MODRICA - By hearing of new witnesses in front of Grand Jury of the Main Court in Modrica, presided over by judge Zoran Tanasic, a trial to Ferid Halilovic from Odzak, started. SARAJEVO - The Chamber for Human Rights decided to revise the verdict to Sretko Damjanovic, sentenced by the Muslim District Military Court in Sarajevo, on March 12, 1993, to death penalty for alleged crime of genocide and other crimes committed against civilians. The Chamber for Human Rights brought the decision to revise the merits of the Damjanovic's verdict on the base of charges against Federation of B-H, brought to the Chamber on December 13, 1996 by Damjanovic's sister for violation of human rights.

BANJALUKA - Repurchasing and renting of flats in RS would rise approximately DEM 120 million to be used for revitalisation of economy, this was concluded at the public debate on Draft law on accommodation in RS, regulating norms for repurchasing and renting of flats, i.e. privatisation of residential buildings in RS.

ZVORNIK - The president of the Municipal Board of the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) in Zvornik, Stevo Radic, informed the delegation of the International Group for Planning and Development of the problems in the reconstruction of infrastructure and a need for adaptation of residential buildings for accommodation of between three and five thousand residents.

BANJALUKA - The attitude of the international community to allow funds for opening of mass graves and exhumations only in the RS territory, but not in the Federation, is absolutely unacceptable, warned the Democratic Party for the Krajina president, Nikola Spiric, and, in this context, mentioned the "non-compliance" with the provisions of the Dayton agreement on POWs release and exhumation of remains of fallen soldiers and civilians from mass graves.

SARAJEVO - The Srpsko Novo Sarajevo Municipal Board of the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS), assessed that measures undertaken by the Electoral Appellation Sub-Commission as "drastic and unacceptable", which are aimed at breaking and weakening of the SDS. "Our contacts with OSCE have been satisfactory, and that is why the decision of the Electoral Appellation Sub- Commission to remove candidates from the SDS list for local elections surprises us", says the SDS press release.

KOTOR VAROS - The decision by the OSCE Electoral Appellation Sub-Commission deleting a candidate from the Kotor Varos SDS list of candidates for local elections, which decision abolishes a candidacy for a public office and does not allow the eventual exchange of candidates, was inspired by political motives, assessed the SDS Municipal Board of Kotor Varos. The SDS says similar acts were already seen during the general elections last September.

SARAJEVO - The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) refused a suggestion of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) for B-H that the Federal Parliament calls for an emergency session to resolve problems which led to the stalemate in the work of both chambers of the Federal Parliament, reports Radio-Sarajevo.
