NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The president in the Presidency of B-H from RS, Momcilo Krajisnik, talked in Pale with the chief of mission of the Russian Embassy in Sarajevo, Jakov Gerasimov, on the current crisis in RS, with a special stress on the pending issue of seized transmission towers of the Serb Radio- TV (SRT). The representative of the Russian Federation expressed the readiness of the Russian diplomacy to contribute to overcoming the current problems in RS, which was met by thankfulness on the part of Mr. Krajisnik and the president of the RS National Assembly Dragan Kalinic, who was present at the meeting.

SARAJEVO - The Main Board of the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) is not quite satisfied with the results of the municipal elections, and says its participation on the parliamentarian and presidential elections implies certain conditions - refugees polling, voters control abroad, and holding of both elections at the same time. The SDS Main Board analysed the electoral results and its strategies for the constituting of new municipal bodies, and addressed issues in relation to parliamentarian and presidential elections. The final conclusion is that the SDS cannot be completely satisfied with the results of the municipal elections, and that the reasons why the expected results missed are of both subjective and objective nature.

BRCKO - Results of the local elections showed that Brcko remains within RS, stated RS vice-president Dragoljub Mirjanic, following the talks with Brcko supervisor Robert Farrand. Mirjanic specified that the Serbian national front with majority of 30 seats won "is a guarantee that the electoral results will be honoured and fully implemented". He underlined that RS leaders and experts teams will review supervisor's orders on introduction of multiethnic administration, judiciary and police in Brcko, as well as changes to the Statute of the city to verify these orders.

BRCKO - The leaders of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS) and Socialist Party for RS (SP for RS) in Brcko, Jovo Jeftic and Petar Djokic, are surprised with the supervisor's order to change the Statute of the city and establish multiethnic police, administration and judiciary. At a meeting with representative of six political parties which won seats in the city assembly, the supervisor, neglecting the electoral results, accentuated the votes registration and practically imposed national key by his order, which exclude the will of the people as displayed at the elections on September 13 and 14.

BRCKO - Representatives of the political parties from the Federation of B-H which won 26 of 56 seats in Brcko city assembly are not satisfied with the achieved results, but expect multinational administration as supervisor for brcko Robert Farrand ordered it. "Only supervisor's orders lead us to creation of a multiethnic environment and solutions testing Dayton in Brcko, for the establishment of multiethnic administration, judiciary and police give us to hope that, with the respect of all three peoples and parties' interests, multiethnicity will be secured", concluded Mirsad Djapo in the name of the Social-Democratic Party of B-H.

PRNJAVOR - The SDS Municipal Board for Prnjavor sharply condemned attempts at "forced and illegal takeover of the Public Security Centre (CJB) in Prnjavor and other places by police forces loyal to president Plavsic". The SDS Municipal Board stressed its "bitterness because an order issued for this Serbagainst-Serb action and because the CJB Prnjavor and its territory were abused."

ZVORNIK - The SDS did not get absolute majority in Zvornik, because of which some staff changes need to be carried out in order to correct the SDS results at the up-coming elections for the Republic parliament, concluded the session of the SDS communal board in Kozluk.

THE HAGUE - Dr Milan Kovacevic's defence asked from the Hague Tribunal Kovacevic's temporary release because of his poor heath condition. Kovacevic's defence asked that Kovacevic be transferred back to Prijedor, since he refused a more detailed examination in the Hague.

BEOGRAD - SFOR destroys RS and creates unitary B-H, assessed retired general Radovan Radinovic at the "Forced depriving from the right to information in RS" tribune. While assessing that SFOR behaves absolutely outside the Dayton agreement, Radinovic concluded: "Whether there is some other covert agreement I do not know, but I can suppose there is. Yet thugs change rules as they want". RS senator Dragos Kalajic believes that "this is the first imperial attempt of conquest and domination over the world by way of provoking crises and using them".

PRISTINA - The takeover of SRT transmitters indicates at international community's "joining of anti-Serb and anti-democratic block", stated Radio- Pristina editor-in-chief, Milovije- Miko Mihajlovic. "Essentially, such a move represents a severe violation of the Dayton provisions, for it means an intervention in matters which are the internal problems of RS", Mihajlovic stated.

BANJALUKA - The president of the Serb Party of the Krajina and Posavina, Predrag Lazarevic, stated in Banjaluka that he could not give an decided answer about who would be new Banjaluka mayor and who would be new president of the Banjaluka Executive Board. Lazarevic added that this Party negotiated with the SP for RS, Democratic-Patriotic Block and the Serbian Patriotic Party on partner relations in the future City Assembly.
