NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJALUKA - The president of Republika Srpska (RS) Biljana Plavsic announced in Banjaluka, after the meeting with the Japanese Ambassador to B&H Joshua Takashimo, that his country will soon approve credit for RS. The president emphasised that Japan is "seriously interested in the implementation of the Dayton Agreement" and reminded that it has "always equally treated RS and Federation of B&H (FB&H) when it is in question economic reconstruction and humanitarian aid".

SARAJEVO - The president in the B&H Presidency from RS Momcilo Krajisnik presented in Pale to French Ambassador to Sarajevo Ives Gaudel that future Ambassador of B&H to France has to represent all three nations, i.e. both entities. " There is justified concern that Ambassadors are behaving autonomously, i.e. that they are representing only one nation. We explained that the politics and strategical approach of RS is based on the fact that ambassadors are representing all three nations"-said Krajisnik.

DOBOJ - Constituting of the National Assembly (NS) of RS will contribute to unity and more efficient functioning of legislative, executive and legal authority in RS, has been assessed at the meeting of the president of RS NS Dragan Kalinic with representatives of Serbian Democratic Party (SDS), Serbian Radical Party (SRS) and Socialist Party (SP) of RS, In political consultations about holding of session of NS RS, during talks in Doboj with Aleksa Buha, Nikola Poplasen and Zivko Radisic, Kalinic have assessed that as soon as possible achieving of agreement about parliamentary majority will be the first step in the implementation of the results of elections.

BIJELJINA - The decision of the High Representative Carlos Westendorp to proclaim the Law of citizenship is reflecting decisiveness of the International Community to continue with the process of implementation of peace and make stronger power of Westendorp, thinks his deputy Hans Schumacher. In Bijeljina he expressed his anticipation that the authorities in RS and FB&H, as well as common organs of B&H, will fully cooperate with representatives of the International Community in the implementation of laws reconciled at the Bonn Conference.

SREBRENICA - The deputy chief of mission of OSCE for B&H Richard Elerkman obliged the president of municipal assembly /SO/ Srebrenica Stanko Rakic to constitute new assembly in accordance with results of municipal elections held on September, not later than January 15 next year. the representatives of the parties from Srebrenica propose the continuation of talks about the submitted complaint, which was not respected despite the numerous arguments and concordance of the chief of OSCE mission Robert Frowick to come to an compromise agreement through further talks.

BANJA LUKA - The special reporteur of the UN Secretary General Kai Eide assessed in Banja Luka that the evident progress was made in realisation of the programme of freedom of movement in RS and FB&H. At the farewell press conference, at the eve of expiring of his mandate, Eide resume the most important results of the mission of UN, accentuating the work and role of IPTF. While talking about reconstruction of police forces in B&H, Eide said that this process should include 8,500 policeman from RS out of 20,000, as was anticipated by Annex 11 of the Dayton Agreement.

BELGRADE - The famous Yugoslavian pathologist Zoran Stankovic stated that it was proven that RS was bombed by the missiles with weakened uranium and that it is no just a hypothesis. "This fact was confirmed by the Institute for nuclear sciences "Vinca" last year in the bulletin issued on the occasion of Yugoslavian nuclear conference held in Belgrade from October 6- 9" - stressed Stankovic in an interview for "Blic".

BELGRADE - The president of FR Yugoslavia /FRY/ Slobodan Milosevic stressed after the talks with the High Representative for B&H Carlos Westendorp, that "the strengthening and affirmation of legally chosen organs of B&H are in interest of citizens and successful implementation of Dayton agreement". In that sense was assessed that the constitutive session of National Assembly of RS should be held at time anticipated by regulations.
