BELGRADE - Holy Archpriest Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church expressed its "deepest concern because of sluggishness in overcoming of the Kosovo and Metohija crisis as well as violence and terrorism, still in the act in the region". In the announcement issued after the end of this year's session, the Holy Synod condemned terror and every violence, no matter from which side. "The Synod thinks that problem of Kosovo can be solved only by democratic means thorough dialogue in which, aside from representatives from Serbia and Albanians from Kosovo,will took part representatives of Serbs, Turks, Gypsies, Muslim and Gorans", is said in the announcement.

SARAJEVO - The International Community High Representative Carlos Westendorp said that "it is most unacceptable to delay production of joint license plates in FB&H", and warned that he would dismiss Federation Internal Affairs Minister Mehmed Zilic and his deputy Jozo Leutar. "I have no other choice but to use my rights given to me by the Dayton Peace Accord and Bonn document and order you that for the rest of production in Federation immediately conclude a contract with enterprises which were confirmed by the OHR and IPTF as capable to produce joint license plates" - is said in the letter to Federation Internal Affairs Ministry.

MOSTAR - Croatian authorities of Livanj and West-Hercegovina canton rejected joint curriculum in Primary and High schools because, according to them, a decision of joining of educational system is not in accordance with the Federation Constitution and the Dayton Peace Accord. "That proposal means breaking up of the Constitution and its adjusting to needs of the unitary school" - said Minister of Social Sciences and Culture for Livanj canton Branko Zrno, Croatian media reported.

MADRID - Spain's spy service had uncovered a child prostitution ring in Bosnia run by NATO-led Stabilisation Force's northern brigade which is under Italian command. The Spanish daily "El Mundo" said that a child prostitution ring was discovered nearly a year ago by military intelligence service agents but had continued operating. Girls from 12 to 14 years of age were drawn into prostitution for the NATO-led northern brigade in Sarajevo and from the begging of 1997 continued to operate.

BELGRADE - Director of the Serbian Science and Art Academy (SANU) Historical Institute from Belgrade ScD Slavko Terzic said that only ignorant ones could be surprised by dual standards and lack of solidarity with Serbs during policy of implementation of ethnic cleansing of Serbs in Croatia and lack of respond during bombing of Serbs in RS. According to him "it is not to be surprised by indifference during embargo and sanctions against Yugoslavia as a special kind of modern genocide against one nation".

LJUBINJE - Number of beneficiaries of a Public Kitchen in Ljubinje will be reduced for third, because German Red Cross, which was a major sponsor, announced reducing of delivery of food and revision of bemeficiaries. The public kitchen, under supervision of the Ljubinje Red Cross Municipal Board, prepares daily cooked meals for 100 for local users and refugees.

LUKAVICA - The Kasindol City Hospital will receive help from Greek and European Parliament - stated a member of the European Parliament Mrs. Nana Muskuri. A delegation which included representative in the European Parliament Doris Pac, Greek Ambassador to B&H Prokopios Mandzuranis and Ambassador of the European Commission to Sarajevo Donato Kiarini was received in Kasindol by director of the hospital Slavko Zdrale.

BANJALUKA - Second Tourist and Hotel Management Fair, TURS Banjaluka '98 finished today in Banjaluka by awarding of diplomas for the best tourist offer to company Bobar from Bijeljina, Olympic Centre Jahorina, Plan-tours from Velika Plana, resort Mljecanica near Kozarska Dubica and Banjaluka's Central.
