[02] Greek Foreign Minister - Cyprus Chamber
Nicosia, Jan 12 (CNA) -- Greek Foreign Minister George Papandreou has
called on the Cypriot business community to make its own contribution to
efforts towards rapprochement and a settlement of the island's political
problem of division and Turkish occupation.
He said Greece and Cyprus will have to not only adapt but also shape
developments. He stressed that Europe's decisions about its ties with
Turkey put Ankara firmly on a course which it has to follow if it wants to
become a member of the European family and appealed to the Turkish Cypriots
to join the Cypriot negotiating team for Cyprus' accession of the European
Union.
