Weather forecast for Cyprus

Nicosia, Jul 12 (CNA) -- The Meteorological Office at Larnaca International Airport has issued the following weather forecast for Cyprus:

Tuesday and Wednesday: 13/7/2004 to 14/7/2004 ------------------------ The weather on Tuesday and Wednesday will be fine, warm and rather humid mainly over the coastal areas overnight. The wind will be light catabatic over night while moderate sea breeze is expected during day time.

The temperature will range inland from 22 to 40 celsius, from 23 to 35 over the coastal areas and from 19 to 31 over the mountains.

Outlook for Thursday and Friday: 15/7/2004 to 16/7/2004 --------------------------------- The weather will be mainly fine while temporal cloud which are expected to develop inland are likely to result in local showers. The temperature will note a decrease.

Cyprus Spokesman says Filori confirms government's positions

Nicosia, Jul 12 (CNA) - Government Spokesman Kypros Chrysostomides said today that statements last Friday by Jean Christophe Filori, spokesman for EU Enlargement Commissioner Gunter Verheugen, reconfirmed the position of the Cypriot government that the term ''economic isolation of the Turkish Cypriots'' was not due to the Greek Cypriot side but to the Turkish occupation of the island's northern third, which is also stressed in the 1994 ruling of the European Court of Human Rights.
